Old Erowal Bay – MacGibbon

The renovation of this small fibro clad cottage came about after many years of neglect. Originally built in 1962, the renovation required a complete overhaul in most areas of the house.

An extension was built to increase the house footprint, the existing roof was re-pitched and all the roof sheeting replaced. New windows were installed with the cladding finished off in Colourbond and flat sheet fibro combination.

New wardrobes were installed in the bedrooms and a walk through laundrette directs you into the bathroom. Hardwood timber flooring was installed through both living areas, the kitchen and dining areas of the house to add a touch of class.

A covered rear deck finished in wide board decking and stairs made from Merbau hardwood allows access to the huge backyard.

The completion of this renovation of a run down 1960’s shack resulted in a beautifully finished simple, modern home that will see it survive through another 60 years of life.
